Here’s a story of how I helped two families with one pet sitting agreement. It all started when I took the pet sitting job. Then, while I was walking the dog I was sitting, I found a lost dog running loose in the neighborhood.
A week ago, Elizabethtown city officials opened the gates at the Freeman Lake Dog Park. Once inside, dog owners unleashed their dogs to frolick with delight. The dogs were excited to enjoy the open spaces while making new friends with other dogs.
One thing I have noticed when I pet sit other people’s pets is that the dogs often stop eating the first few days. I’m not sure why this happens, but I consider it normal. Usually, after the first two days, dogs and cats will start eating their food.

If you or your child is bitten by a dog, you should determine the severity of the wound. Next, you should encourage the owner to take actions to prevent future bites. Then, depending on the severity of the wound, seek medical attention either from your family doctor or the ER. When in doubt, go to the ER. When you go for help, you may be asked to complete a bite report. The bite report will be used by the Health Department to place the animal on a 10-day bite quarantine as a rabies suspect.
